Use the links on the GCM Library website to access the databases.   If you are not at school, you will need the passwords. NOTE: You will be asked to log onto your school account to access this password file.

Search Tips

Use the browse feature available in many databases to help you focus on a topic.

Use Advanced Search options to limit your results to certain types of information or particular date ranges.

Search with a variety of terms including synonyms to get a variety of results.

For research on geography and culture:

For sources in English AND French:

• Gale PowerSearch (TIP! Select “French” Publication Language in advanced search.)

For sources in French:

• Google.fr (TIP! Search with French keywords.)
• Britannica Encyclopaedia Universalis

For images:

• Any of the country information databases
